John hooked into a Steelhead at the Skookumchuck River.
>> No. 1053
That's a coho you idiot and a foul hooked one at that. I like how you show us the lure at the end, like it really matters what offering you shoved up it's ass.

Also, the steelhead don't really come in until Feb on this river. Feb and Mar are best unless you just want to snag up some moldy boots.

Fished the Skook last Sunday. There were cars parked from the gate at the end of the road all the way down to the hatchery, on both sides. That's like 50-100 cars. So I parked in the lot by the hatchery and waded down river looking for a hole that didn't have a bunch of knuckle draggers gangbanging it. After several hours and walking several miles without finding such a hole, I packed it up and went home.

38.5 lb steelhead caught in a gill net in the lower Quinault. That would have been a fish of a lifetime for anyone!

What a great weekend! The weather was great and the fishing was amazing. Grand Coulee Dam was spilling a ton of water into Rufus woods so
The water at Rufus was very high and the current was much faster than normal but it was some of the best trout fishing that I have ever seen! It was non-stop action! Fish after fish after fish and the average size was huge...

Pautzke Director of Operations Chris Shaffer caught a ride with pro staffer Duane Inglin, packed the truck with Firebait and met up with fellow pro staffer Anton Jones of Darrell and Dad's Guide Service in late December of 2012 to see how fond of Firebait the trout were. With a two-fish limit it didn't take long to limit the five guys in the boat...
